KYODO NEWS, Japan’s leading news agency, is a cooperative organization independent of government, political and commercial interests.
Kyodo’s English-language service, called KWS (Kyodo News World Service), distributes news stories totaling 60,000 words a day, in the political, economic, business, sorts and other fields, to foreign newspapers, radio-TV networks and other media in Tokyo and overseas as well as Japanese English-language newspapers and foreign diplomatic missions in Tokyo. KWS plays an important role in disseminating information about Japan and other key parts of the world.

共同通信社は、日本を代表する報道機関であり、公平中立を基本理念とした協同組織です。
共同通信社の英字ニュースサービスであるKWS（kyodo World Service）では、英字新聞社や、ラジオ、テレビ各局に向けて、政治、経済、ビジネスなどの分野のニュースを日に約60,000字、配信しています。
